On behalf of everyone who has helped make this dream a reality, welcome to the website of the Sgt. Mac Foundation. With the establishment of this Foundation, we are hoping to truly impact the lives of active duty Marines, wounded servicemen and women, and veterans in need. After much hard work and determination, we are finally poised to make that difference.
The Sgt. Mac Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to honor our son, Marine Sgt. Eric McColley who was killed in a helicopter accident February 17, 2006 over the Gulf of Aden. Eric, like so many other servicemen and women, gave his life doing what he loved; serving his country and those that he cared for. To honor him, we: his family, friends, and community, have stepped forward and established the Sgt. Mac Foundation.
We at the Sgt. Mac Foundation feel that we are in a unique position. Having lost a son, we wish to make ourselves available to those in similar circumstances. Parents will continue to suffer losses as long as conflicts exist. It is our hope to be able to aid these suffering individuals in any way possible. We hope that in addition to providing aid, assistance and support, we will be able to lift the weight from those suffering, and provide them the tools and information they need to continue.
Out of tragedy comes hope. We hope the Sgt. Mac Foundation will be that beacon of hope for those people who need us the most. Thank you for your prayers and support. We look forward to the smiles that - together - we will bring to our brothers' and sisters' faces.
Yours Truly,
John McColley
Foundation President
