Please help establish the Gold Star Mothers National Monument in Washington, DC
Susan and I were fortunate to be in Gettysburg recently for the dedication of the Gold Star Mothers Monument. This monument will not be located in Washington DC but in New Hampshire. States will often move much quicker than the Federal Government. On December 9,2009, HR-4197 also known as the Gold Star Mothers National Monument Act of 2009 was introduced by Rep. John Adler of New Jersey. The bill currently has 39 CO Sponsors but needs many more to make the national monument a reality. The link below will take you to the Bill Summary & Status page, under search Bill Summary Status click the Bill Number circle, enter HR 4197 and click search. HR- 4197 page will open where you can select to read the text and view the current list of Co Sponsors.

So, with all that being said please contact your representative and urge them to CO Sponsor HR 4197 a worthy piece of legislation. It will take an Act of Congress to open the National Mall for this monument and the Gold Star Mothers deserve this recognition.
